Case Study – Terrebonne Sports Complex

Advantage Sport was invited to put forward a proposal for the biggest indoor running track of 333 metres on the North Shore of Montreal (Sports Complex Terrebonne, Quebec). Given the frigid Canadian climate, this new track will be very popular during the winter months.

The suspended track platform (25 feet up) forms the perimeter of 4 large soccer fields. To complete the 12 700 sq. ft. track, 25 rolls of Omnisports were needed.

This sports surfacing was selected to profit from its shock-absorbing properties to cushion joints from impact and reduce pressure on their lower extremities. Omnisports offers a consistently smooth surface texture with an optimal balance between the surface friction and traction for safety. It also offers easy maintenance with the help of its TopClean XP surface treatment.

When health is also a concern, Omnisports is unique among sports flooring regarding the indoor environment’s air quality. It offers the lowest VOCs (volatile organic compounds) of any sports floor.

Omnisports presents important health, safety, and environmental responsibility benefits:

  • Asthma & Allergy Friendly™ certification for better indoor air quality
  • Phthalate-free manufacturing technology, ending the use of phthalate plasticizers for health concerns
  • Floor Score® certification ensures low levels of VOC emissions
  • GreenLay™ installation method requires less adhesive, which reduces the ecological footprint

We successfully completed the project within the 3 week required time frame and to the owner’s complete satisfaction.
